What is the core identity of the Apogee program?
Apogee is a character and leadership development program designed for homeschooling families. We focus on building a solid foundation of critical thinking, resilience, and real-world skills rather than simply memorizing facts.
What age groups does the program accommodate?
We welcome Young Leaders ages 5 through 18. Our community is structured to provide age-appropriate challenges while fostering mentorship across different age groups, allowing older students to guide younger ones.
How do the educational philosophies differ by age?
For ages 5-11, the focus is on curiosity, exploration, and foundational habits. For ages 12-18, the curriculum shifts toward advanced leadership, self-directed projects, and practical life skills that prepare them for adulthood and true independence.
What is your approach to character and leadership?
We believe leadership is built through action and accountability. Our mission is to guide young men and women to take ownership of their Young Leader development, develop strong moral character, and become capable leaders in their families and communities.

Do you provide portfolio support for end-of-year evaluations?
Yes, we actively assist families in compiling comprehensive portfolios. Throughout the year, we help gather work samples, reading logs, and progress metrics, making your annual evaluator review a stress-free experience.
What is Skill Forge and how does it individualize academics?
Skill Forge is our proprietary approach to core academics. Instead of a one-size-fits-all curriculum, we assess each Young Leader's current capabilities and design individualized pathways. This allows Young Leaders to advance at their own pace, mastering fundamentals before moving forward.
How much curriculum flexibility do families have?
Families retain ultimate control over their educational choices. While we provide a robust framework through Skill Forge and our daily structure, you have the flexibility to integrate your preferred resources, faith-based materials, or specialized curriculums at home.
The Daily Rhythm
What are the daily hours at Apogee?
Our daily rhythm is structured and consistent, running from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM. This provides our Young Leaders with a balanced day of focused academics, collaborative projects, and essential breaks.
How is Project-Based Learning (PBL) integrated?
PBL is a core component of our day. Young Leaders engage in hands-on, real-world challenges that require critical thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, making education practical and exciting.
What is Civil Discourse?
Civil Discourse is a dedicated time for Young Leaders to discuss complex topics respectfully. We teach them how to articulate their thoughts, listen actively, and engage in meaningful, constructive dialogue with their peers.
What does 'Fuel Up' mean in the schedule?
Fuel Up is our intentional block for nutrition, movement, and mental reset. It ensures our Young Leaders have the energy and focus needed to perform at their best throughout the day.

EXPECTATIONS
What is Apogee's program identity and character alignment?
Apogee is an enrichment program designed for homeschooling families seeking a community built on shared values. We focus on character alignment, encouraging Young Leaders to take extreme ownership of their learning, lead with integrity, and support one another in a collaborative environment.
What are the age requirements and basic independence expectations?
Our program serves Young Leaders ages 5 to 18. To ensure a thriving environment for all, Young Leaders must be fully bathroom trained and capable of basic independence within a structured group setting.
How does group placement work (Wonder, Compass, Pathfinder, Summit)?
We organize Young Leaders into specialized age groups to best support their developmental stages. 'Wonder' and 'Compass' focus on foundational curiosity and exploration, while 'Pathfinder' and 'Summit' challenge older Young Leaders to take on advanced projects and real-world leadership responsibilities.
How does the age-16 overlap for Pathfinder and Summit work?
Because Young Leaders mature at different rates, 16-year-olds can overlap between the Pathfinder and Summit groups. Placement is based on a Young Leader's readiness, leadership capabilities, and individual academic goals, ensuring they are challenged exactly where they need it most.
